The drug of choise for the new Millenium Well... if the Internet didn't exist the Community Network wouldn't be here in its current form. We were early adopters of the use of internet technology but we prefered the KISS (keep it simple, stupid) method of application and our story is one of doing a lot at little cost in a hostile environment and so can you. (A concept I tried to get through to the city over the years, starting when Janet West was mayor. Someday I will do a cost/benefit analysis between the Community Network and the City's web site history as a comparison.) Local is Global

We will be cleaning up dead links in some of the older pages we are using and bringing in new material in the next month or two. Please be patient with us. It will be worth it. A fundraising gala to benefit the Bainbridge Public Library Dinner, wine and words with readings of their own works by highly acclaimed local authors. Of social significance OUR CONSISTENT VISION: To be our community's 'Online Neighborhood.' Very early, we realized that the internet had a lot of potential -- both positive and negative -- for small communities. We saw that the creation of a Community Network was a way to actualize some of that positive potential and help insulate the community from some of the negative. Here's how our vision played out in the real world.
